What do I use pouches for?

Pouches are what we use to hold necessary equipment when playing airsoft.  Anything you need to hold from your airsoft gun including extra magazines, tools, pistol magazines, grenades or anything else can be housed in one of the many specific pouch options available.  Pouches have MOLLE mounts on the back which allows them to be mounted on any vest, plate carrier, or chest rig that has MOLLE webbing.  The MOLLE webbing is a great design in use by the United State Military and gives you the ability to completely customize your loadout for the mission.  It is very rugged as pouches are securely mounted to your plate carrier, vest or chest rig.  The most popular type of pouches are magazine pouches.  Since different airsoft rifles and pistols have different sizes and styles of magazines, there are a variety of pouch options to use.  Make sure that you find the best pouch for the type of rifle you have. For magazines pouches, there are 2 types open top or closed top.  Closed top pouches are great to ensure that your magazines are carried securely when you're working your way through rugged terrain.  Open top pouches are great for faster reloads in fast paced environments.  In addition to rifle magazine pouches, there are also pistol magazine pouches.  It's very common to carry 2 spare pistol magazines on your loadout.  You also should consider some type of admin or medical pouch - these give you the ability to house miscellaneous tools and accessories   There are also many other styles of pouches that can be used.  You can have map pouches, medical pouches, utility pouches and others.  With the MOLLE webbing, you have a full solution for building a loadout that is tailored towards your individual needs.  The type of airsoft gun that you have as well as the type of airsoft field that you play at will determine what type of pouches you need to add to your airsoft loadout.

Q: Should I get a single, double or triple magazine pouch?

A: This depends on your needs.  If you are just starting to build your loadout, a triple magazine pouch may be a great place to start.  This will allow you to carry a good complement of extra magazines.

Q: Is a medical pouch important?

A: A medical pouch can be used for a variety of items - it is a very good utility pouch to carry tools and additional small supplies that you may need

Q: Should I get a map / admin pouch?

A: An admin pouch is very useful to carry important documents or maps.  This can be very useful depending on your mission

Q: Do you recommend getting a hydration pouch?

A: Keeping hydrated is very important when playing airsoft.  In the excitement and adrenaline of the game, it can be easy to get yourself into a situation where you need to hydrate.  Having a hydration pouch mounted to your loadout and taking regular sips is a great way to ensure that you are staying hydrated.

Q: I've seen grenade pouches, are these important?

A: Grenade pouches are great if you are carrying an airsoft grenade.
